9ID in Need of New Recruits

 

 

CAMP ELIAS ANGELES, Pili, Camarines Sur-- The 9th Infantry (Spear) Division through the Army Recruitment Mobile Team conducted the Armed Forces of the Philippines Service Aptitude Test (AFPSAT) in two different venues here in Bicol region in order to recruit applicants last May 1-2, 2018.

The said exam is the first stage in the selection process for those who aim to become part of the country’s military forces, be it as officer or enlisted personnel.

The first exam coincided with the commemoration of Labor Day wherein it was held in Camarines Norte State College, Daet, Camarines Norte while the second day of exam (May 2) which was originally scheduled at Marcos Stadium, Pili, Camarines Sur was conducted at Caroyroyan, Elementary School. A total of 582 examinees were accommodated in the said scheduled activities.

In line with this, the applicants who will pass the AFPSAT are qualified to apply for Candidate Soldier, Officer Preparatory Course (OPC), or Officer Candidate Course (OCC) depending on the score they will receive from the said exam. All passers who will be up for the challenge of becoming public servants will be subjected to undergo other mandatory exams such as interviews, physical fitness tests, trade test, physical, medical and neuro-psychiatric exams to determine if they are qualified for training.

According to Major General Jesus A Manangquil Jr AFP, the command encourages the youth, especially those coming from Bicol region to take advantage of this opportunity and eventually become a soldier of Armed Forces of the Philippines who will not only be assured of stable job upon enlistment but also a chance to make difference in the lives of their fellow bicolanos.

He further said that the Philippine Army needs more brave and patriotic soldiers who are prepared to go the extra mile to keep the peace and secure the land.

With this undertaking, the command is set to process another batch candidate soldier for this calendar year.
